Season Extension Project Awards
The USDA provided a grant to NDA to administer a grant to fund projects that will extend the growing season for specialty crops. The 2012 sub-recipients include Tomato Acres , Hintz Produce, and Savory Eats. The growers are located near Elm Creek, Hebron, and Brunswick, respectively, and the projects constructed will include high tunnels, drip irrigation, and a shade structure. A farm tour to each location will be announced in 2013 where growers will be encouraged to attend.
